Wuhan
Wuhan lies where the Yangtze River and Han Shui River merge. Comprising Wuchang,
Hankou and Hanyang which stand on both sides of the river. Wuhan is known as the
pivot point of nine provinces. In the city center, majestic and scenic Tortoise
Mount and Snake Mount stand prominently and opposite to each other across the
river. The Yellow Crane Tower built according to a legend in the ancient time
just sits on the Snake Mount.

Jingsha City
Jingsha City lies to the north bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.
The convenient land-and-water transportation made the city a place contested by
all strategists since ancient time. In the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring
States Period (770 BC-221 BC), it was an Islet Palace for the kings of the Chu
State, and in the
Three Kingdom Period (220-581 AD) Liu Bei occupied this
place. Jing Zhou with long history is very rich in historical relics such as the
well preserved ancient city wall, an unearthed some 2000 years-old-male body, the
bronze articles and etc. The well-known Jingzhou Museum is located here. In
the 1990s Jingzhou and Shashi City became into one named Jingsha City.

Yueyang Tower
The Yueyang Tower, built 1,000 years ago,
eulogized with many poems in the history and
turned out to be one of the most famous ancient towers along the Yangtze River.

Yichang
Yichang, a communication gullet of Sichuan and Hubei provinces, is located at
the eastern exit of Ming Gorge in west Hubei Province. It is known as the
"Gateway of the three gorges". The Ge Zhou Dam built by the end of 1970s is
located here. And the world well-known Yangtze Dam is only about 40km to the
north of this city.

Xiling Gorge
Xiling Gorge, extending 66km in length is composed of many scenic spots
such as, "Military Manual and Precious Sword Gorge", "Ox's Liver and Horse's
Lung Gorge", "Kongling Shoal" and "Shadow-play Gorge". Among the cultural relics
in the gorge are "Huangling Temple" and the "Three Travellers Cave".

Zigui
Zigui is located at the exit of Xiling Gorge, near which Xiangxi (Fragrant
Stream) joins the Yangtze River. There erected a tomb and a memorial pavilion
for Qu Yuan, a great patriotic poet in ancient China. One may take a dragon boat
in the Fragrant Stream and see the native town of Wang Zhaojun, a famous beauty
in ancient Chinese history.

Shennong Stream
Shennong Stream starts at Mt. Shennong Jia in Hubei Province north of the
Yangtze. It comprises of Parrot Gorge and Dragon Boot Gorge with breathtaking
scenery. Sailing through the treacherous gorges with lush pine and translucent
water, visitors can see spectacular sights like ancient plank roads, ancient
suspension coffins, aqueous caves, rainbow fountain and wild lives. It is also
perfect to experience the cultural of Tujia minority. Visiting Shennong stream
on a willow-loaf sampan is a sensational experience.

The Lesser Three Gorges
The Lesser Three Gorges are three sections of
Wushan valleys in mid-stream of Da
Ning River. They are "Dragon-Gate Gorge", "Misty Gorge" and "Emerald Gorge", 60km in length. The Gorges are famous for crystal clear rapids and sky scraping
cliffs. Taking a small boat drifting on the stream in the Lesser Three Gorges
you could find out that you are just in the most beautiful picture.

Wu Gorge
The Wu Gorge, 44km long, is known for its deep valley and quiet beauty. The
"Twelve Peaks" lining the banks of Wu Gorge, have been admired by visitors from
all over the world. It is said that if you look carefully, a silhouette of a
goddess can be seen at the top of Goddess Peak.

Qutang Gorge
Qutang Gorge, known for its magnificence, is only 8km long with many
scenic spots such as, the Meng Liang Staircase, the Ancient Plank Road, the Kui
Gate, the Seven Gate Cave, the Bellows Gorge, and the Rhinoceros Watching the
Moon.

Shibaozhai
Shinaozhai (Pearl of the Yangtze River) is one of the Yangtze's spectacular sites, Shibaozhai, a 12- story wooden pagoda built against the side of a sheer
rectangular cliff, is truly a magnificent structure. Over 400 years old, it has
appropriately been named the "Pearl of the Yangtze".

Baidi City
Baidi City (White Emperor City) is located at the gateway of the Three Gorges, at
the entrance of Qutang Gorge. Many historic sites and stories about
Three Kingdom Period (220-581 AD) have evolved from here. In White Emperor City there are poems,
carvings, and cultural relics of the
Sui Dynasty (581-618 AD),
Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 AD),
Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD) and Qing Dynasties
displayed.

Fengdu
Fengdu (The Ghost City) is a place Chinese people believe that after people died
all their spirits meet here. The temple was first built in the
Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). And it has been renovated for several times.

Chongqing
Built on a peninsula at the confluence of the Yangtze and the
Jailing rivers
presents a unique magnificent picture as miles of the roads and streets winding
up and down the hills and along the river banks, thus, it has been well-known
for its nickname "Mountain City".
